Alzheimers/Memory Care
at
Boulevard Place
Memory
Care at Boulevard Place is dedicated
to meeting the special needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s
disease and other dementias, as well as providing supportive services
for their families.
Innovative Alzheimer’s Memory Care programming
enables Residents to achieve the highest possible levels of physical,
emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Our Philosophy of Care
- We believe that the needs of each person with cognitive
impairment must be addressed through an individualized plan of care.
- We believe that, because we cannot change the diagnosis of dementia, we must
change to accommodate it.
- We believe that quality dementia care must be ever-adapting
to the changing needs of the individual.
What is a Memory Care Unit?
Memory Care Units are structured environments for persons suffering
from memory loss. Memory losses can be caused by any number of reasons,
including, but not limited to, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body
disease, Pick’s disease, and Stroke.
Within a Memory Care Unit,
factors such as interior design, lighting, and activity programming
are tailored to the needs of residents suffering from these diseases.
Memory Care at Boulevard Place includes:
- Two distinct “neighborhoods” – each providing
a comforting, low-stimulus environment.
An
expansive “ Activity
Boulevard” serving to engage
Residents both cognitively and physically.
- “Memory Boxes” and
display areas throughout the unit which encourage Residents to personalize
their living spaces.
- A private beauty salon and bathing spa for personal
care services.
A
comprehensive, therapeutic recreation program to accommodate the
unique, yet dynamic, needs of each Resident.
