Q: What makes The Life Center a special place? A : Since 1931, The Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center has been committed to meeting the diverse elder care needs of its Residents. This is achieved through medical assessments, individualized care plans. Moreover, our staffing ratio is one of the highest in the State, providing personalized and dedicated care for your loved one.
Q: Do I have to be Jewish to be admitted to The Life Center? A : No. We serve the rehabilitation and long-term care needs of persons of all faiths.
Q: Do I have to sign a lease or pay buy-in fees? A : No. Leases and buy-ins are not required to be admitted to The Life Center.
Q: What services are available at The Life Center? A : We offer rehabilitative, long-term nursing, and memory care services. The rehabilitative program includes physical, speech, and occupational therapies.
Q: What is Memory Care? A : Memory Care is a term used to describe the personalized care provided within a structured environment to persons suffering from various forms of memory loss. Although most often referred to as “Alzheimer’s disease”, memory losses may be related to any number of causes. Although individuals with different dementia’s or memory losses exhibit differing behaviors and characteristics, their needs can often be met within one Memory Care setting.
Dementia-care programming at The Life Center allows individuals to achieve the highest possible levels of physical, social, and spiritual well-being in a secure environment.
Q: What recreational activities does The Life Center offer? A : There is a full daily schedule of social activities taking place at The Life Center. There are also special events scheduled regularly . A few favorites have been a wedding style show, art show, the annual Hawaiian Luau, restaurant outings and Art Center visits.
Q: How do families get involved at The Life Center? A : Families are encouraged to participate in all aspects of their loved one’s life. Visits are always encouraged and made possible with our unlimited visiting hours. We encourage frequent visits whether joining us for therapy, meals, or daily activities. In addition, Resident Council and Care Conferences facilitate interaction between Residents, families and The Life Center care team. Our spacious atrium and other lounge areas are available for use by Residents and their families to celebrate special events and milestones.
